I think we need it now we have the tournaments, because I along with others aren't sure where we belong D:. I think it'd be easier if we were just classed instead... Although I'm pretty sure I belong in novice, I think the others need help with their identity crisis

I think its much better without it because with classification there are ALWAYS going to be people who disagree with what they get and with this tournament if are gonna find it difficult then surely its going to encourage you to make better graphics and put more effort in to it, which will then eventually improve your graphic skills. (Assuming your talking about me and other people) I only picked novice because I'm not sure what this tournament is going to be like, if I fee like I can achieve more and have a chance at getting the better prizes then I will move up. Its only the first one so we are all just gonna see how it goes.

I also find the classification helpful on what I need to improve with.

I agree that there should be some kind of classification. On basically every other board I've ever been on, there has been classing, and don't say "Oh, but Varia Studios wants to be different." Because classing helps. Certainly more than it hurts, and I've heard the arguments about people fussing about their classes and to be honest, only arrogant pricks do that, and Varia Studios doesn't have (as far as I can tell) or need any of those. Besides, it gives novices something to work towards.
Sorry if that comes across kind of snappish, I've had a bad day.

I also find the classification helpful on what I need to improve with. Then, classification is no different really to normal critique, which can be done in the Spotlight board. Just ask in a topic there for serious critique only, and for people to class... How hard is it?

If you want to be classed just post your stuff in the spotlight, get your best works and post them. Just name the thread "class and CC please" or such. I will personally reply to every thread with this name.
Official classification likely won't be done for several reasons: -It's too hard to moderate, right now only two people would be classing you -Other forums have generally better classification, they have more designers classing -It can and has caused problems in the past with people getting a lower class than they felt they should
I know I'm missing some core reasons here, but I'm drawing blanks.
However, if the community feels we need it, we may open it. So keep posting and give me your thoughts/arguments.

The only 'argument' you all need is the fact me and Sven don't want it, so... there

Haha. As Sunjo said, the administration are personally AGAINST classification. It's a pain in the arse, and, its derogative. We want VS to be more about having fun, rather than people trying to get better ratings. As Stinky and Sunjo have alraedy said - just ask in Spotlight. Just because it's not official, doesn't mean that it's inaccurate or something. However, if a good argument is given, then we will add it in. Convince us

But for all seriousness, I personally don't think it would be necessary, but should be handled as is currently, and shall be acted upon by request... Just a matter opinion, though.

Heh, stop arguing about the PRO bit, we may add that later - when the competition expands, for the time beign. It stays at INTER.
However, it looks as if classification won't pass, but again. We will leave it open for discussion
