"the secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources"
I really don't like this to be honest. It makes it look like we're a community who rips other people off or something. Plus I think the secret to creativity lies within the artist. We each make our own pieces of work. We may be influenced by other art but to say that the secret of creativity is hiding where you got your idea is rather immature and silly if you ask me.

yeah, 'cause Einstein was so immature.
Nothing is original, everything comes from one source - nature. The secret of accepted 'creativity' is manipulating, or hiding your sources of inspiration effectively.
This is in no way an immature statement, infact it's very true.
It is however, immature (in a way) to argue that the quote is untrue and that we as humans are creative. Either way, the quote will probably stay, it's a true statement, and I personally like it.
The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources. Creativity is an illusion, no one is creative or original.
Think about and compare those two statements, and you will understand it as I do.

That's just your opinion. You are right in say all creativity comes from nature. But the secret behind doing that isn't hiding how you found it. It's finding it. Creativity is about looking at something and transforming it to express a certain idea, emotion, desire, anything really. Creativity is the transformation itself. Not hiding how you figured it out. Not hiding your moment of clarity. But sharing that with your viewers. You are trying to get the viewer to feel as you did when you made your art.
To hide your source is to be selfish and to imply that you yourself came up with the created thing all on your own.
Art is about sharing and transferring emotion from one person to another. Not hiding your source.

The depends on your views tbh. Say I found some awesome resource that helped my work look spectacular I may not feel like sharing it because then the work would be normal as everyone would whore it out.
When you see someone who makes awesome signatures with a weird style and different technique, they might not want to share it because it is their own, and it makes their work look different and stand out to everyone else's.

You might want to add a " - Einstein" to the end of it so it gives it some credibility.

You might want to add a " - Einstein" to the end of it so it gives it some credibility. Everyone one in the world knows that Einstein said that... It's one of the most famous quotes after things like Que Sera and To be or not to be, etc. As Sunjo said, the quote remains and won't be removed. To the people that think it is like a little title that says we are a community that rips, just simply have no idea and need to be shot to be honest. Because it's clear that we do not, and anyone that thinks that does not know what is staring at them and should quit life to be totally honest. The secret to creativity IS how you hide your source, and nothing more. There is an even better and truer quote. Good artists copy Great artistis steal That's about as true as it gets. You try and hide your source, and you are win. The moment your source gets revealed the moment you become mediocre and not creative anymore, but rather a trendwhorer and follower etc. Thats it, as Sunjo said. Nothing is original and nothing is truly 100% creative, everything has been taken from somewhere. Try and prove me wrong.

Stop saying "creativity IS how you hide your source" I completely disagree and I'm entitled to my own opinion. There is no real right or wrong answer. I just don't think it's right to look at it that way. It's just not something that leaves me feeling good about art.
You might be right in a technical sense. Hiding your sources is good. Yes. But to make that the first and foremost goal? That seems wack to me.

Because, when I look at art, don't forget I'm also a conceptualist. Thats how I see it, that everything I create is unoriginal, but inspired from somewhere, yes. To hide that makes me creative If I don't hide it, then I'm not creative in the eyes of the community.

I could prove I'm right, and that you're completely wrong.
But I'm not interested in a philosophical debate right now. The banner stays exactly how it is, if it offends you so bad, you don't have to stay here.
